| Shelley Staton is a graduate of Notre Dame De Sion where she studied the French language. She continued her education at Rockhurst University, studying the Spanish language and communication, earning a Bachelors degree in Business Communication. Shelley is the proud wife to Merrill and mother to sons Hamilton, age 4 and Lyman, age 2. Shelley's family also deals with such personal challenges as Cystic Fibrosis and Charcot Marie Tooth Disease. To support one of these worthwhile causes, Shelley co-founded a non-profit organization called Caring Families for Cystic Fibrosis to raise money for local families affected by CF. In 2006 she brought SpanishFUN to the Kansas City area, another organization that was truly the first of it's kind. Since then, there have been other local businesses start up with similar claims and even similar names, providing Young Spanish the greatest example of flattery. Shelley also founded the Olathe West chapter of Mom's Club and is now avidly involved with the Greater Johnson County chapter of Mothers and More and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Her son's heightened interest in the Spanish language prompted the leap of faith to purchase SpanishFUN. Upon building the Young Spanish business, Shelley was pleased to find that there were so many other people who shared her love for this multicultural heritage. In fact, She discovered that there was an enormous public demand for this program and she was far from alone in wanting to ensure the foundation of her children's cultural future. This program has now become a critical part of a child's successful future. SpanishFUN already offered some activities to introduce children to a second language, but Shelley has transformed the school room into a fun and relaxed class setting that is designed to keep children interested while stimulating their learning experience. We all know that children can learn in a daycare and preschool setting, but coffee houses, custard and pastry shops? It is true! Shelley has collaborated her innovation, Two-Way Bilingual Immersion program and Boca Beth products with outside partners to form what we call the perfect environment for learning. Now parents can get a 30 minute break to have coffee or a snack and their child gets an education too! You have the convenience of us coming to you in a school, group or individual setting or you can visit one of our partnering public locations. The flexible monthly curriculum includes an introduction to basic words, names, numbers, colors, animals, days, months and more. Shelley and her brilliant staff understand that preschoolers appreciate having fun while learning, so the program includes the use of songs, games, stories, puppets and other fun activities to keep them excited. After all, this all came about while looking for tools to introduce her own child to Spanish. It was then that she purchased SpanishFUN, discovered the Boca Beth teaching tools, and then began blending it all perfectly with her past experience of a mother to create Young Spanish. Incorporating fun and caring compassion for each child ensures a true love of learning for Young Spanish students. Her commitment to excellence results in a high quality, affordable program that builds each child's sense of self and opens doors to the wonderful world of the Spanish language. These reasons begin to highlight why this program is so essential and highly recommended. This brilliant program is supported and executed on a daily basis with Young Spanish quality instructors.
